Q:
How close to the centre of the Creek may I moor
my vessel?
A:
The Queen's Harbour Master
requires that we maintain a 15m wide navigation channel, clear of
all moorings and vessels. While the Berthing master will issue
a position for a mooring it is the responsibility of the mooring
holder to set and adjust his moorings so that all anchors, chains,
and all parts of the vessel when moored remain, at all states of
tide and in all wind conditions more than 7.5 m from the centre of
the channel. Over much of the length of the creek the profile
is "U" shaped and in these places the centre of the channel is
easily defined as the deepest water.
